ITINERARY

Expand All
On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu a representative from Himalayan Yoga and Excursion will be there to greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in Thamel – the tourist center in Kathmandu. You will be briefed during the day about what to expect on the trek.
In the early morning, we leave Kathmandu on a seven-hour bus trip to the Langtang Valley. As the road climbs out of Kathmandu Valley you will have views of the Annapurna Mountains, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and other snow-capped peaks in the Langtang region. Our first port of call is at Trishuli Village and then to Dhunche where we cross into the Langtang National Park. After an hour of trekking downhill we reach Syabru Besi where we stay overnight.
On the trail this morning we cross the Bhote Kosi (meaning Tibet River) that flows down from Tibet. We then ascend through the sub-tropical forest before joining the trail coming from Syabru Besi. We then head downhill through oak and rhododendron forests. On this leg of the trail, we may encounter Langur monkeys in the treetops. We then head up a steep trail before arriving at Lama Hotel where we stay overnight.
As we trek through a forest in the early part of this trail we have periodic views of Langtang Lirung from gaps in the trees. At Ghora Tabela (3,000m) we come out of the forest and then arrive at a Nepali army outpost. We then head through several small settlements occupied by herders who come here to graze their livestock (including Yak) in these high mountain pastures during the summer months. We then come to Langtang Village, which has recently been rebuilt in a more modern style of architecture since the earthquake of 2015. We will stay here for the night.
Today the trail gradually heads higher up through yak pastures, through a broad valley with some fantastic views. On the trail, we cross several small streams before arriving at Kyanjin where there is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory - which is an ideal place to stock up with lunch and afternoon snacks. We will arrive here before lunch. In the afternoon you can rest and explore the nearby countryside. If you are feeling energetic you can trek up the Valley to Langshisha Kharka to see some more grand views.
The day begins by visiting the famous Kyanjin Gompa (temple). You will enjoy leisurely wandering around the village and a visit to the cheese factory where you can sample Yak cheddar. We will climb for 7 hours towards Mt. Chorkari RI (5050m). We will have views of Langtang Peak before heading back to Kyanjin.
Today we have a 5 to 6-hour trek back to Lama Hotel. It is all downhill today, but nevertheless, you should exercise caution on some of these steep paths. We will stay overnight at the Lama Hotel.
We have a fairly easy trek of around 5 to 6 hours with some great views along the way. We will stay at a guesthouse here tonight.
This morning we head back to Kathmandu leaving behind the peace and serenity of Syabru Bensi. On arrival at Kathmandu you will be taken back to your hotel.
A representative from Himalayan Yoga and Excursion will take you to the airport at least three hours before your scheduled flight. We look forward to hearing from you concerning your time on this amazing trek.
