14 Days Everest Base Camp Trek

Our 14-day Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC Trek) is the most popular trek in the Everest Region, with breathtaking views from day one. In Nepalese, Mount Everest is known as Sagarmatha, which translates as "Mother Goddess of the World".

Everest Base Camp hiking is a breathtaking site surrounded by towering mountains. The best months to visit are March through May and September through December.

The journey begins with a 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the beginning site for your trip. Lukla has many teahouses and serves a variety of western cuisine. The trail winds through the lush green Dudhkosi Valley, home to a wealth of flora and fauna, Sherpa communities, Buddhist monasteries, and Gompas (Tibetan fortresses). Your journey begins in the Sherpa hamlet of Namche Bazaar, where you will spend two days acclimatizing, which is critical for ascending these high altitudes. After leaving Namche Bazaar, you'll pass through several small settlements, including Tengboche, Pangboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche, where yaks graze the grassy hills. Gorakshep is the last settlement we'll pass before heading to EBC, which will take around two hours. At 5486m (17,999ft), Gorakshep provides breathtaking views of the Khumbu Ice Fall, located at the head of the Khumbu Glacier. We climb from Gorakshep to Kala Pathar (5643m), also known as black rock, from which you may enjoy some of the most spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges.

Everest Base Camp Trek – Weather & Route Condition: Please note that during the Everest Base Camp Trek (14 Days), weather conditions in the Himalayas can change rapidly, especially between June–September (monsoon) and December–February (winter) seasons. There may be possibilities of flight delays or cancellations from Kathmandu to Lukla and vice versa due to weather or visibility issues.

ITINERARY

Expand All
When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, you will be met by a Himalayan Yoga And Excursion representative who will transport you to your three-star accommodation. You can relax at your hotel or walk about Thamel, doing some last-minute shopping and taking in the sights.
Today we fly from Kathmandu and then hike to Phakding (2610m), a small village in Nepal's Khumbu region in the Dudh Kosi valley.
Today we walk along the valley, with the Dudh Kosi River by our side. On numerous occasions, you cross the Dudh Kosi River via suspension bridges before ascending to the little settlement of Jorsale in the Khumbu area, just south of Namche Bazaar. After a two-hour journey, you will arrive in Namche, with some amazing vistas along the way, including breathtaking views of Mt. Everest (Sagamartha in Nepali). You enter the Sagarmatha National Park through Jorsale, where authorities will check your license. After another 5 or 6 hours of fairly hard work, we arrive in Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization is essential for your safety before ascending to higher elevations. It is essential that you stay active during the day, so we will go on a day-long trek through the towns of Khunde and Khumjung, soaking in the breathtaking vistas of Everest before returning to Namche. At Namche, you may decide to see what appears to be a Yeti skull! Namche also boasts of a bakery! Aside from Everest, weather permitting, you can view Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and a plethora of other beautiful peaks. After breakfast, we will trek to the Syangboche airstrip (3790m), from which we will ascend to Khunde, passing by several Chorten (Buddhist stone constructions). Leaving Khunde, we follow the trail east to Khumjung (3790m), the major settlement in the Khumbu area at the foot of Mt. Khumbila (English "God of Khumbu"). After lunch in Khumbu, we travel to Everest View Hotel, which is well-known for its spectacular views of Everest, before returning to Namche (3540m), a 4- to 5-hour hike.
The reasonably even journey to Tengboche, which takes around 5 hours, zigzags through various valleys until reaching at Kenjoma, where it joins the path from Khumjung right before crossing many Mani stones (stones inscribed with ancient Buddhist prayers). This stretch of the trek offers breathtaking views of Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam. We travel past the little village of Sanasa, from where the path dips to Phunki Thanga (3250m), followed by a sharp ascent through pine forests, passing more Mani stones as the trail hugs the slope to Tengboche (3870m). Tengboche is noted for its breathtaking views of many of the world's highest peaks, including Kwangde (6187m), Tawachee (6542m), Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse (8501m), Amadablam, Kantega, and Thamserku. We'll be staying in Tengboche tonight.
Today we descend on a 4 to 5-hour hike through woods before crossing the Imja Khola and passing through the settlement of Pangboche, which is notable for its crops surrounded by rock walls. Tonight we will stay in Dingboche.
Our walk today begins at 8.30 a.m. and takes us on a reasonably simple route up to Chhukung. From here, you have an excellent view of Mt. Ama Dablam. The views from Chhukung and later the valley of Island Peak are breathtaking. Today's walk is rather short, primarily downhill, and ends in Dingboche, where we will spend the night. This walk is frequently accompanied by high winds.
The journey today takes around 1.5 hours and passes through many Chortens (Tibetan shrines and graves) before arriving at the village of Thugla (4600m), where we will have lunch at the teahouse. After lunch, we proceed towards more high peaks, including Mt Pumori (7161m) and Mt. Nuptse (7861m), before arriving at Lobuche Village (4940m). After leaving the Pheriche Aid Post (4371m), we travel through an open valley to Thukla. The aid post is staffed during the peak trekking seasons. We then descend to the yak pastures near the little town of Lobuche. Tosay's journey will take roughly 5 hours. Tonight we will stay at Lobuche.
This morning, we'll start with a two-hour hike to Gorakshep. The trail is first pretty easy, but it gradually becomes more tough. Along the trek, we have amazing views of several high peaks, including Everest, Nuptse, and other massive ones. The trail continues for about 150 meters before crossing a moraine and becoming easier before reaching Gorakshep, one of the world's most remote and highest villages. After lunch, we hike toward EBC along a trail that runs alongside the Khumbu ice sheet. The hike along the ice sheet takes around 1.5 hours before traversing the glacier and entering the EBC region (5360m). At base camp, you will be able to meet other climbers and share stories. From EBC, you can see the Khumbu ice sheet and glacier, as well as its terrifying and hazardous cracks. We will then descend to Gorakshep, which will take approximately 6 to 7 hours.
The early morning climb to Kalapathar (5550m) from Gorakshep will take about two hours. After a short climb to Kalapathar, you'll have unobstructed views of Everest and other magnificent mountains. The magnificent photos of Everest seen on the internet are taken from this vantage point. From here, we descend to Gorakshep, a relatively straightforward downhill hike. At Gorkashep we stop for tea and a snack before continuing on our descent to Pheriche. After completing your goal of reaching EBC and experiencing high altitude mountaineering, you will sleep soundly in Pheriche. Today's journey will take between 6 and 7 hours.
Leaving Debuche, we take a 30-minute easy hike to Tengboche before descending to Phunkithanga (3200m). Our ultimate destination is Namche, where we may celebrate our accomplishments and reflect about the highlights. This is also your last chance to admire the beauty of these towering peaks. At Namche, you can connect with the outside world via the internet, visit the bread shop, and perhaps hang out at a pub.
It's a hard day, with a 7-hour journey from Namche to Lukla, largely downhill with a few parts of level ground. We leave Sagarmatha National Park and eventually arrive in Lukla, where we remain the night.
Our morning flight will take us to Kathmandu in around 30 minutes. During the trip, you will get a bird's-eye perspective of many of the world's highest peaks in the Himalayan Ranges. Your guide will accompany you from the airport to the hotel.
Our agent will transport you to the airport around 3 hours before your departure. This is merely a 'farewell' till we meet again for your next excursion into the Himalayas.
